Hello The wheat belt country town of Beverley located 130km east of Perth in the picturesque Avon Valley is a special place.
I was lucky enough to meet the friendly people and spend a few days here. I was one of the "artists in residence" at "Beverley Station Gallery" & Platform Theatre (a recent addition). The beautifully restored 130 year old Railway Station is now the peoples' Gallery. Open 4 days a week for perusal by community and visitors. A real gem! Goods trains toot and rumble through the station a few times a day. One day, hopefully, trains may bring passengers to Western Australian wheatbelt town/s.
Beverley has treasured and preserved a lot of the town's original buildings, the bull-nosed verandahs, etc. There is the Merchant and Importer's Buildings, Central 1915 Buildings, Railway Station, Character Hotels, Old Caltex petrol station, Elder's Building, Trading Stores to name a few. For a glimpse see photos here.
