Inspiration Home Materials and Methods Studies Exhibitions
Inspiration to paint the light, colour and atmosphere of Australia, to be able to paint it, capture the joy and rewards of this environment. My home and studio are situated in the Perth northern suburb of Duncraig in the large western state of Australia. It’s coastline stretches over 12,000 kms along the Indian Ocean. The 38 km coastal drive along this northern part of Perths suburbs has been called "Sunset Coast Tourist Drive” and you can understand why. There are numerous white sandy beaches and limestone rocky cliffs. It’s home of the Marmion Marine Park, Hillarys Marina and offshore, 18kms away, you can see the Island of Rottnest which is a favourite holiday island known worldwide for its very relaxed, laid back style. This Islands transport is minus cars which is a great bonus to the laid back lifestyle. |
Materials and Methods Artist quality materials: acid free watercolour papers; paints such as Winsor & Newton, Atelier, Matisse. Framing is the work of professional framers. Artwork will often commence on site with sketches, notes and photographic records. Being on site I can take away mindfully the feeling and atmosphere of the subject. Painting may start there and be continued in my studio at home. Studies I was fortunate enough to see quite a lot of the famous Art Galleries of the world as a young adult. Since then, I check them out whenever possible. Studied art at high school and then more thoroughly in the 1990's studied art history, drawing and painting at the West Coast Art College of TAFE; I have continued to learn and work attending classes and workshops as well as doing the occasional teaching. |
Please take yourself on this journey with me and enjoy my creations....
